About the Collective Online:
The Jason Ricci / Winslow Yerxa Harmonica Collective has been an institution since its inception several years ago as a multi-day hotel-based event geared toward the intermediate to advanced harp player. In 2018, after a brief hiatus, the revival of the Collective was held at Chickie Wah Wah in New Orleans. It was a star-studded event which was well attended and appreciated by all. The 2020 Collective was scheduled for the spring in Florida, but was necessarily cancelled due the the coronavirus epidemic. Jason and Winslow have decided to take the Collective online as a 2-hour monthly workshop, with a special guest expert instructor each month.

Ask anyone familiar with modern blues harmonica to list the world's premiere players and teachers, and Jason's name will be at the top of the list. His playing is deeply rooted in the fundamentals, but no one has been more innovative in both technique and style than Jason. He can play deep blues, but he can dazzle with blazing speed over jazz chords and New Orleans funk rhythms. He is a seasoned road warrior and band leader, and a prolific teacher on YouTube and Skype. Grammy and Blues Foundation award winner, microphone and pedal board techie and cat lover, Jason knows the right questions to ask our guest stars/instructors to get the most from an interview. And he might teach a thing or two in the process.
Known by Jason as "Part mad scientist, part historian, part educator, but always an artist." Winslow has also been called a "walking encyclopedia of the harmonica." Author of Harmonica for Dummies and Blues Harmonica for Dummies, past president of SPAH, prolific teacher and professional performer in multiple genres, Winslow is the go-to guy for any question related to the diatonic and chromatic harmonica. He knows and teaches music, not just harp, and possesses a truly encyclopedic memory of the history of the harmonica and its players from the beginnings of the instrument. He works in blues, jazz, folk and traditional and even classical genres on diatonic and chromatic harmonica, and composes to boot. He doesn't have to look stuff up -- he knows!
Learn from a moveable feast of the world's best harmonica instructors and monthly guest stars. Harmonica Collective Online is a 2-hour monthly live online version of the legendary Harmonica Collective, available to subscribers for permanent, repeated review.
